Sunil Bhakta Shrestha Elected President of Nepal–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce & Industry

Kathmandu. The 14th General Assembly of the Nepal–Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NVCCI) on Wednesday elected businessperson Sunil Bhakta Shrestha as the new President, marking a new chapter in bilateral trade promotion.

The newly formed executive committee includes Deepak Kumar Malhotra and Urmila Shrestha as Senior Vice-Presidents, Gopaldas Manandhar as Vice President, Nabin Saru (Dol Bahadur Thapa) as General Secretary, and Swati Ghoriwala as Treasurer. Pavitra Man Gurung and Prakash Ram Shrestha have been appointed as Secretaries.

The committee also comprises Manish Lal Pradhan, Sushil Sthapit, Deepak Maharjan, Sanjeev Tuladhar, Raju Shrestha, Shyam Marwadi, Rashmi Pant, Kumar Shrestha, Prakash Regmi, Ayush Bahadur Shrestha, Ramesh Parajuli, Vidhata Shrestha, Achyut Bahadur Hada, Sakam Ghimire, and Sarvottam Lal Shrestha as members. Kiran Kumar Shrestha, Dhruva Kumar Shrestha, and Dr. Saroj Adhikari have been appointed as advisors.

President Shrestha pledged to strengthen and expand trade relations with Vietnam, emphasizing the untapped trade potential between the two countries. Vice-President Urmila Shrestha highlighted the organization’s role in identifying joint investment opportunities, promoting trade, attracting investment, and facilitating knowledge sharing between entrepreneurs.

During the inaugural session, Honorary Consul General for Vietnam, Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, underscored the Chamber’s pivotal role in boosting Nepal-Vietnam trade, particularly in agriculture, tourism, trade, and IT sectors. He emphasized that Nepali products have rising potential in the Vietnamese market and that the Chamber could further explore these opportunities.
