Kathmandu. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava paid a courtesy call on Minister for Health and Population Dr Sudha Gautam at her office on Friday.
According to Ministry Spokesperson Dr Prakash Budhathoki, the meeting focused on enhancing the sustainability and effectiveness of the bilateral partnership in the health sector.
During the discussion, Minister Dr Gautam underscored the longstanding close relations between Nepal and India and appreciated India’s continued cooperation in strengthening Nepal’s health system.
She outlined the Ministry’s key priorities, including maternal and infant health, mental health, expansion of health insurance, capacity enhancement of the national drugs laboratory, and health care services for Nepali migrant workers abroad.
In response, Ambassador Srivastava expressed India’s commitment to support the construction of infrastructure for upgrading the national drugs laboratory, provide necessary equipment, and offer training for human resources development.
