Kathmandu. The Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has made a powerful presentation of Nepal as a world-class destination for adventure and nature-based tourism at the International French Tourism Mart (IFTM Top Resa 2025) held in Paris, France.
Marking the 75th anniversary of French climber Maurice Herzog’s successful ascent of Mt. Annapurna in 1950, NTB also highlighted the historical significance of Nepal–France relations. Herzog’s pioneering climb has inspired generations of French travelers and mountaineers to visit Nepal, a tradition that continues today.
French tourists are regarded as loyal visitors to Nepal, with Everest Base Camp, the Annapurna Circuit, the Langtang trails, and cultural sites of the Kathmandu Valley ranking high on their travel preferences. With the growing demand for sustainable and experience-driven tourism, Nepal has become an increasingly attractive destination for French travelers.
At the mart, NTB’s Nepal Pavilion drew significant interest from European travel professionals eager to learn more about Nepal’s adventure and nature-based offerings. The NTB team, led by Senior Officers Sagar Shrestha and Rajiv Jha, promoted Nepal’s adventure, cultural, and eco-tourism attractions.
Alongside NTB, six Nepali travel companies—Journey DMC, Namaste Holidays Tours & Treks, Friends Adventure Team, Ethical Trekking Nepal, The Trek Nepal, and Himalayan Guides Nepal Treks & Expedition—participated in the event.
Through its participation, NTB aimed to deepen partnerships with French and European tourism businesses, strengthen Nepal’s appeal, and attract more visitors in the future.
IFTM Top Resa is France’s largest B2B tourism exhibition, bringing together tourism boards, travel agencies, and tour operators from around the world. NTB emphasized that Nepal is fully prepared to offer authentic, adventurous, and sustainable tourism experiences to the European market.
