Kathmandu . As preparations for the formation of an interim government move forward, the name of Mahesh Dahal has been widely discussed across the country as a strong candidate to lead the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Dahal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Education, Master’s degrees in Political Science and Sociology, and an M.Phil. in Sociology. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Sociology at Tribhuvan University.
He has previously served as the Executive Chairman of Nepal Television, a Board Member of the High-Level Information Technology Commission, and a Board Member of the Institute of Foreign Affairs. Dahal is also the former National President of Nepal Jaycees, an international youth organization, and the former Ambassador of Nepal to Australia.
Alongside his professional career, Dahal has been actively involved in teaching at various colleges and has contributed his expertise to government, non-governmental, community, financial, educational, and insurance institutions. He has also been engaged with youth organizations, political parties, and international groups such as Lions, Rotary, and Jaycees, delivering training sessions and motivational speeches.
Recognized as an inspiring figure, Dahal has provided leadership, personality development, and motivational training to more than 20,000 youths through different institutions and universities. His role as a motivational speaker has made him a familiar and respected personality among Nepal’s younger generation.
Known for his honesty, independence, and clean image, Mahesh Dahal is now being widely regarded as one of the most competent and capable figures to take charge of Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the upcoming interim government.
