Kathmandu. Nepal has been honored as the Best Adventure Tourism Destination of the Year at the India International Travel Mart (IITM) 2025, held in Pune, India. The prestigious award was presented during the IITM Awards Night 2025, organized from November 27 to 29 in Pune.
The award was received on behalf of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) by Board Member Narendra Bhatt and Senior Officer Narayan Basya.
During the award ceremony’s Destination Presentation session, NTB Senior Officer Robin Regmi delivered an impressive audio-visual presentation showcasing Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions. The presentation highlighted the Buddha Circuit, Ramayana Circuit, and cross-border eco-trails, along with Nepal’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, spiritual pilgrimage routes, world-class trekking and mountaineering opportunities, and thrilling adventure sports.
According to Regmi, Nepal’s active participation in IITM Pune 2025 has further strengthened the country’s ties with the Indian tourism market. It has also helped promote Nepal as an “All-Season Destination” and a country offering a “Lifetime Experience.”
At IITM, the Nepal Tourism Board collaborated with 15 major travel trade companies to promote unique tourism packages and attractions among Indian travel professionals and promoters. The three-day travel mart saw the participation of hundreds of travel trade representatives, tourism entrepreneurs, and visitors from various countries.
The Nepal pavilion at IITM served as an effective platform to showcase the nation’s rich cultural heritage, adventure destinations, and warm hospitality. NTB CEO Deepak Raj Joshi stated that Nepal’s strong presence at IITM Pune 2025 is expected to significantly boost interest and demand for Nepal in the Indian market. He expressed confidence that participation in such international platforms will further establish Nepal as a top priority destination for Indian tourists.
