Lalitpur: KIST Teaching Hospital’s KIST Transplant Centre has successfully completed its 17th liver transplant, marking another significant milestone in Nepal’s private healthcare sector. A 59-year-old man from Kohalpur, Banke, was given a new lease on life after receiving a liver donation from his 37-year-old daughter.
According to the hospital, the transplant was successfully performed on June 29, 2026 (Asar 15, 2083 BS). Both the donor and recipient have recovered well and have been discharged from the hospital in satisfactory condition. The hospital described the case as not only a medical success but also a touching example of a daughter’s unconditional love, courage, and selflessness in saving her father’s life.
With this achievement, KIST Transplant Centre has completed its 17th successful liver transplant, further strengthening its position as one of Nepal’s leading private transplant centers. The hospital attributed its continued success to advanced medical infrastructure, internationally standardized treatment protocols, a dedicated team of experienced transplant specialists, and a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
