KATHMANDU: Nepal has officially returned to normalcy after days of political unrest and nationwide curfews, with transportation, tourism, and business activities resuming smoothly.
The turnaround follows the appointment of Interim Prime Minister Sushila Karki, the first woman to hold the post in Nepal’s history, which has restored political stability and boosted public confidence.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), public transport, long-distance buses, and both domestic and international flights are now operating on schedule. Hotels, restaurants, and travel agencies in major tourist destinations have reopened, offering safe and comfortable services for travelers.
“All tourism services are functioning smoothly,” said Rishi Bhandari, Executive Board Member of NTB, adding that Nepal has once again proven its resilience.
In its official statement, NTB emphasized Nepal’s ability to recover from past challenges — including natural disasters and political unrest — thanks to international support and the enduring appeal of the Himalayas, cultural heritage, and vibrant traditions.
“Nepal is now safe, peaceful, and ready to host visitors from around the world,” the statement read, expressing confidence that the tourism sector will regain momentum quickly as travelers return.
