World Record-Holding Lyricist and Novelist Dr. D.R. Upadhyay Awarded Honorary Doctorate

Lucknow: World record-holding lyricist and novelist Dr. D.R. Upadhyay has been conferred an honorary doctorate by Europe-based IIEHSR University. The honor was awarded during a special ceremony held in Lucknow, India.
Dr. Upadhyay received the honorary Doctor of Literature (D.Litt) degree in recognition of his outstanding contributions to songs and literature. The certificate was presented by university representative James Carey along with other distinguished guests.

Dr. Upadhyay, who earned his PhD in Sociology in 2000, has previously been honored with honorary doctorates from eight universities across the world, including institutions in the United States. This latest recognition marks his ninth honorary doctorate.

According to the organizers, the honorary degree was awarded in appreciation of Dr. Upadhyay’s significant and sustained contributions to lyric writing and literature. The ceremony also saw several other prominent personalities being conferred honorary doctorates.
Dr. Upadhyay has set 153 world records across songs, music, and various creative fields. He has published more than a dozen novels, three lyric collections, and 36 music albums. Nearly 250 of his songs have been released, with hundreds of song videos available to the public. His most recent novel is titled Aashakti.
