Makwanpur. A new chapter in Nepal’s rural tourism sector has begun with the operation of Tistung Resort in Tistung, Ward No. 6 of . Designed to blend modern hospitality with rural charm, the resort aims to promote Tistung as a leading tourism hub by integrating natural beauty, agricultural tourism, religious heritage, and local culture.
Located just 38 kilometers from Kathmandu via the Chandragiri route, the resort offers convenient access for both domestic and international visitors. The Tistung area, also reachable through the Naubise–Hetauda highway, has increasingly become a preferred destination for travelers seeking a peaceful environment, clean air, and scenic landscapes away from urban congestion.

Speaking at the inauguration of the resort’s newly built swimming pool, highlighted the importance of tourism infrastructure in unlocking the potential of rural destinations rich in natural and cultural resources. He emphasized the need to balance local authenticity with modern amenities to attract more visitors. Similarly, noted that tourism development should extend beyond urban centers and praised Tistung Resort as a positive example of promoting tourism in rural communities.
