Surkhet Airport (SKH, VNSK)
Located in Birendranagar, Surkhet District, Karnali Province. About 5 km from Birendranagar city.

Runway: Asphalt runway ~ 1,255 meters long.
History: Established in October 1966. Regular commercial flights (using ATR-72) started more recently (around late 2022).
Role: Important hub for flights serving remote western/hill districts like Jumla, Humla, Kalikot, Mugu, Dolpa, etc.
Development: There are plans to extend the runway (to about 1,555 m) and upgrade facilities. Some land acquisition and design challenges exist.
