Rupandehi. Human rights activist and former Member of Parliament Sunil Babu Pant has officially announced his endorsement of independent candidate Kiran BK for the upcoming by-election in Rupandehi-3. Pant described BK as “the most qualified, honest, and people-centered independent candidate among all contenders.”
Pant highlighted BK’s leadership qualities, saying he is young, energetic, and committed to serving the people. “Kiran BK has a clear vision for the country and the people. Supporting him is the right step toward building a brighter future for Rupandehi-3,” Pant said during his statement.
Pant, Nepal’s first openly gay parliamentarian elected to the Constituent Assembly in 2008, is widely known for his tireless advocacy for human rights, gender equality, LGBTQ+ rights, and the empowerment of marginalized communities. His endorsement is expected to add significant weight to BK’s campaign.
In response, candidate Kiran BK expressed gratitude and called the endorsement a historic moment. “This support has made me even more accountable. I am determined to transform Rupandehi-3 into a model of social justice, development, and inclusivity,” he said.
The Rupandehi-3 by-election is set to witness strong competition among candidates from major political parties as well as independents. With Pant’s backing, BK’s candidacy is anticipated to gain greater momentum in the race for parliamentary representation.
