Nepalgunj. A vibrant “Nepalgunj Street Food and Beverage Festival” has begun in Nepalgunj with the aim of promoting local cuisine and preserving culinary identity. The three-day festival, which started on Friday, will continue until Sunday.

Organized jointly by the Hotel Entrepreneurs Association Banke and Hotel Association Nepal (Banke), with support from the Nepal Tourism Board, the festival is being held along Surkhet Road, stretching from the Sushil Koirala Memorial Gate to the western Waterpark area.

According to Bhimlal Kandel, President of the Hotel Entrepreneurs Association Banke, the festival seeks to boost tourism in Nepalgunj and the wider Banke district while establishing the identity of local food and strengthening the hospitality sector. Around 5,000 visitors, including domestic tourists and guests from neighboring India, are expected to attend the event.

The festival offers a wide range of food options, from street food to dishes prepared at five-star hotel standards, all in one location. Visitors can enjoy traditional and modern cuisines, beverages, and a variety of cultural and entertainment programs. Approximately 40 stalls have been set up by different businesses.
The event also features live performances by local and national artists, including traditional dances and musical shows by bands such as Firante, The Zappers, Rockheads, and The Black Hole. Renowned singer Ram Krishna Dhakal, comedian and actor Vijay Baral, actress Barsha Raut, and comedian Maksam Gaudel are among the featured performers. Dance performances range from local artists to international acts, including Russian performers.
Festival-goers can experience diverse food stalls, live music, cultural showcases, and special offers throughout the event. Organizers believe the festival will help promote local products and businesses while establishing Nepalgunj as a notable “food destination.”
Due to the daytime heat, the festival activities are scheduled from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM each evening.
