Pokhara . A new 38-member Gandaki Province Committee of the Nepali Chef Society (NCS) has been unanimously formed with the objective of promoting Nepal’s indigenous cuisine, culinary arts, and tourism. The committee was officially announced during a program held at Hotel Majestic in Pokhara.
The event was chaired by Purna Bhakta Dahal and witnessed the notable presence of , INCS UAE Chapter Abu Dhabi Regional President Shyam Lamgate, and Nepali chefs representing all 11 districts of Gandaki Province.
Speaking at the event, participants emphasized the importance of preserving Nepal’s traditional food culture and promoting Nepali cuisine on the international stage. The newly formed committee stated that it aims to enhance the professional skills of Nepali chefs while encouraging the younger generation to pursue careers in culinary arts.
The committee also announced plans to organize skill development training, national and international culinary competitions, food culture preservation campaigns, and tourism promotion activities. It further aims to strengthen collaboration among Nepali chefs living and working across the world.
The newly elected committee is led by President Purna Bhakta Dahal, with Gobinda Khanal as Vice President, Rajesh Sunar as Secretary, and Jhamak Prasad Dhakal as Treasurer. Congratulating the new team, INCS Central President Arun Adhikari expressed confidence that the Gandaki Province Committee would play a significant role in promoting Nepali cuisine globally and strengthening the unity of Nepali chefs worldwide.
