TAAN Gandaki Honors Journalists for Contribution to Tourism Development

Pokhara: The Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) Gandaki has honored journalist Suman Dhungana in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of the tourism sector through journalism. The honor was conferred on the occasion of TAAN Gandaki’s 32nd Annual General Meeting.
Along with Dhungana, who is also the Gandaki Bureau Chief of News 24 Television, journalists Bimal Tiwari and Sagar Dhakal were also felicitated during the program. TAAN Gandaki President Krishna Acharya, while honoring the journalists, stated that Nepali journalism has played a vital and commendable role in the promotion of trekking and the overall tourism sector.

Speaking after receiving the honor, journalist Suman Dhungana expressed that journalism should always remain committed to the nation, nationality, development, and the people, emphasizing that it must consistently stand in favor of public interest.

The 32nd Annual General Meeting and honor ceremony, held at Bar Peepal Resort in Pokhara, also featured discussions on current challenges in the tourism sector. Speakers expressed concern that trekking routes are gradually being damaged and disappearing due to unplanned road construction and expansion, urging stakeholders to adopt a more sustainable approach to infrastructure development.
