NATTA Urges Government to Address Uncertainty in Thai Visa Processing for Nepali Travellers

Kathmandu: The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has called on the government to take immediate diplomatic action to address ongoing concerns over Thailand’s visa processing procedures for Nepali travellers.

NATTA has stressed that Nepali travellers deserve a respectful, timely and fair visa process, expressing concern that uncertainty surrounding visa decisions is exposing travellers and tourism businesses to continued financial risks.

The association has urged the Government of Nepal, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, and relevant diplomatic agencies to take immediate action to resolve the issue.

NATTA has also called for high-level diplomatic engagement with the Thai government and the Royal Thai Embassy to clarify the actual situation surrounding the visa process and address the difficulties faced by Nepali applicants.

The association has demanded a necessary investigation into the matter, emphasizing the need to protect Nepali travellers and tourism entrepreneurs from further financial losses caused by delays and uncertainty in visa processing.

According to NATTA, unpredictable visa outcomes can result in additional expenses for travellers and disrupt the operations of travel agencies and other businesses involved in tourism.

The association has warned that if the existing problems remain unresolved, it may be compelled to reconsider its policy on promoting Thailand as a tourism destination to Nepali travellers.

NATTA has called for transparent communication, effective coordination and timely intervention to ensure that Nepali travellers receive fair treatment and that Nepal–Thailand tourism relations are not adversely affected by continued uncertainty over visa processing.
