Kathmandu. The MUN Runway / Miss Universe Nepal Runway, part of Deepal Present Miss Universe and organized by Global Glamour Ventures, was held in grand style at the Soaltee Hotel in Kathmandu.
The event featured 14 contestants of Miss Universe Nepal 2026, who showcased Nepal’s art, culture, originality and fashion through a series of runway presentations. Wearing specially designed outfits created by Nepali designers, the contestants highlighted the country’s rich cultural identity and emerging fashion talent.
Before the event began, the organizers, contestants and guests observed a moment of silence in memory of those who recently lost their lives in various incidents. Tributes were paid to the victims of the Gen Z movement as well as citizens who lost their lives in floods and landslides.
As part of its social responsibility initiatives, the Miss Universe Nepal team also visited Nuwakot and provided assistance to families affected by floods. The team distributed essential relief materials and expressed solidarity with communities affected by the disaster.
The runway was presented in four different segments, bringing together Nepali fashion, creativity and cultural heritage. Designers and fashion houses including Shweta Acharya Fashion House, Priyanshi Khetan, Yumi Kumari Chaudhary, Aakriti Pun Magar, Binita Magar, Divya, Rafisha Rokka, Monika, Srishti Kumari Thapa, Bimal Kumar Pun, Sristika Shakya, Deep Gautam Thapa, Soulmate Boutique, Masuli Kumari Chadar and Hema Jaigadi created outfits for the contestants.
The event aimed to promote Nepal’s art, culture, language, heritage and creative talent on the international stage. The winner of Miss Universe Nepal 2026 will represent Nepal at the globally recognized Miss Universe pageant.
During the event, Miss Universe Nepal National Director Sangeeta Puri delivered an emotional address, highlighting the challenges and efforts involved in taking Nepali talent and culture to the international platform.
“This journey was not easy. There were many challenges, but we, as young people, continued to work hard together and have succeeded in bringing this event to this stage,” Puri said.
She also expressed gratitude to the entire team, supporters and well-wishers who contributed to the success of the event.
According to the organizers, the Miss Universe Nepal 2026 finale is scheduled to be held within September. The team is preparing to make the upcoming stages of the competition more grand while continuing its mission of promoting Nepal’s talent, fashion, culture and identity to the world.
