Lalitpur: KIST Teaching Hospital and Medanta, Gurugram, India, have conducted a specialist interaction focused on Paediatric Surgery and Paediatric Urology under the ongoing KIST–Medanta Clinico-Surgical Excellence Collaboration.
The monthly academic and clinical programme was held on Bhadra 7, 2083, as part of KIST Teaching Hospital’s continued efforts to strengthen specialist healthcare services in Nepal through international knowledge sharing and collaboration.
The programme featured the participation of Dr. Shandip Kumar Sinha, Paediatric Surgeon and Paediatric Urologist at Medanta, Gurugram. During the interaction, doctors discussed complex surgical and urological conditions affecting children, modern treatment approaches, clinical decision-making and the management of complicated cases.
The hospital said such regular academic and clinical interactions are helping create an environment for the exchange of international-level medical knowledge and experience among healthcare professionals in Nepal.
KIST Teaching Hospital has been working with Medanta, Gurugram, to make specialist consultation more accessible and effective for patients. Under the collaboration, patients requiring expert advice for complex medical conditions can also access Second Opinion and Telemedicine services from relevant specialists at Medanta.
According to KIST Teaching Hospital, the collaboration is not limited to academic programmes. It aims to improve patient care and treatment outcomes through specialist knowledge exchange, second opinions, telemedicine and advanced clinical services, thereby reducing the need for patients to travel abroad for specialist treatment.
The hospital said various specialist-focused academic programmes, clinical interactions and expert consultation services will continue under the KIST–Medanta Clinico-Surgical Excellence Collaboration in the coming days.
