Kathmandu. Three candidates are set to compete for the presidency of the Village Tourism Promotion Forum (VITOF) Nepal.
The election will be held during the 27th Annual General Assembly and 13th National Convention of VITOF Nepal, scheduled to take place in Kathmandu on April 10.
The candidates contesting for the top post are First Vice President Harisharan Thapaliya, Second Vice President Manhari Dahal, and former Secretary Deepak Pandey.
VITOF Nepal conducts its leadership election every two years. The organization is currently headed by President Shakuntala Devkota.
Established in 1997 (B.S. 2054) to promote rural tourism in Nepal, VITOF Nepal has been playing a significant role in developing tourism in rural areas. The organization currently has more than 1,000 members.
VITOF Nepal has also been promoting rural tourism in Gandaki Province, particularly through Gandaki VITOF in Pokhara, contributing to the development and expansion of community-based tourism in the region.
