Kathmandu. In the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), Biratnagar Kings and Chitwan Rhinos are set to face off today (Wednesday) at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur. The match will begin at 4 PM.
Biratnagar Kings will be led by captain Sandeep Lamichhane, while Chitwan Rhinos will be captained by Kushal Malla. Biratnagar has played three matches so far, securing consecutive victories and collecting a total of six points. Chitwan, on the other hand, has played only two matches and currently has two points.
Biratnagar remains unbeaten in the tournament. Although Biratnagar and Sudurpaschim Royals share equal points on the table, Biratnagar stands in second place based on net run rate. Chitwan currently sits in the fifth position.
Chitwan secured a four-wicket win against Karnali Yaks in their first match but suffered a six-wicket defeat against Lumbini Lions in their second outing.
A total of eight franchise teams are competing in this season’s NPL: Janakpur Bolts, Sudurpaschim Royals, Karnali Yaks, Pokhara Avengers, Biratnagar Kings, Chitwan Rhinos, Kathmandu Gorkhas, and Lumbini Lions.
