Time to Build the Future in Nepal, Not Abroad: Chairman Malla

Kathmandu. Rajendra Malla, Chairman of Tech Paaila Innovation, has emphasized that it is now time for Nepali youth to build their future in Nepal instead of seeking opportunities abroad after completing grades 11 and 12. He stressed that the nation’s prosperity depends on empowering youth through technology and innovation.

According to Chairman Malla, the focus should now shift from “seeking jobs to creating jobs.” He said Nepal must enable young people to gain digital, AI, and IT skills from the school level itself. “If we can provide ‘Learn and Earn’ opportunities from local schools across the country, students will begin learning essential skills and earning income from a young age,” he remarked.

Malla further suggested that introducing IT and AI education from grades 9 to 12 would allow students to develop globally relevant skills early on. Skilled youth could then work from their own villages, offering services such as software development, graphic design, data analysis, and AI-based solutions to the global market.

“It’s time to stop our youth from going abroad for work and instead encourage them to stay in their communities and take up digital professions with international reach,” Malla added.

He stated that such an approach would not only create local employment but also significantly increase foreign currency inflow into the country.

Malla believes Nepal has the potential to become a country that exports not only labor but also knowledge and technology. He called for prioritizing digital education from school to university level and launching a nationwide “Digital Export from Nepal” campaign.

“If we can connect our youth’s talent with technology, Nepal can transform into a knowledge-based, self-reliant, and prosperous nation,” Chairman Malla concluded.
